An Afternoon of Matisse

The best kind of afternoon.

An acrylic on canvas inspired by Matisse.

I was browsing the Matisse cutout series circulating around that is remade by graphic designers, and drew inspiration from the various shapes of the cutouts.

I was particularly in the mood to try a more abstract, geometric piece. Recently, I have tended towards bold, saturated colors and thought that it would make for a dynamic piece if I coupled strong reds, greens, and blues all into one.

Although I drew inspiration from the Internet, at the end of the day, I mostly just experimented and would definitely like to try another geometric piece (preferably larger) in the near future.
