WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS
Make lemonade, maybe.
This piece was was comprised of three seconds of thought and absolutely no direction. However, it turns out to be one of my favorite digital pieces to date. I recently discovered the joy that liquifying objects brings me, so I decided to incorporate liquified objects into a mini collage of sorts.
I wanted to make the piece reminiscent of surrealist collages that defy time and space (like the work by artists like Sarah Eisenlohr). The black and white cutout of the women on the beach give the piece an old-time Hamptons feel, but the surrounding objects, especially the liquified ice, give a sense of modernity and futurism.
I had no intent or purpose for making this piece, but I did learn that sometimes spontaneous ideas with very little thought can end up being a great opportunity to capitalize on.
